12/18-19

12/18
Sophia, Nana and I all attend the same bible study meetings here in Japan. The woman who hosts them Iyako-san had a going away party for Sophia. Everyone who attends the bible study came and we had sushi, soup, and a Korean pancake thing called Pajun. It was a good gathering of people to wish Sophia well. She has promised to send me pictures of a taco when she returns to Texas. I'm going to really miss her and her "learn yo' Kanji".

My favorite next-door neighbor Mickey left today to go back to Hong Kong. We went over early that morning to help him take some of the things out of his room and finish last minute packing. It was really sad to see him go. He is really crazy and funny. We saw him off and only cried a little as he was getting in the elevator. Mickey was the last of my friends, who had been here the previous semester, to leave.  He gave me a pair of his boots as he was leaving and I wore them for the rest of the day in remembrance. The seventh floor seems so much clamer and quieter now that he's gone. I'll miss him and his hysterical screams every time he found a bug.
